AI Prompt Engineer
Summary
We’re looking for a mid-level AI Prompt Engineer to design, test, and refine prompts that reliably produce accurate, high-quality outputs from large language models.This role focuses on prompt design, iteration, and evaluation — ensuring AI systems clearly understand the task, follow instructions, and perform consistently in real-world workflows. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and design teams to translate internal needs into structured, repeatable AI behaviors.
Key Qualifications
- 3–5 years experience in a technical, analytical, or product-oriented role (software, data, automation, or AI-adjacent).
- Hands-on experience working with LLMs (e.g., GPT-based models or similar).
- Proven ability to design, test, and iterate effective prompts for various tasks (e.g., text generation, classification, summarization).
- Strong understanding of prompt design patterns, including:
- Role definition and instruction framing
- Step-by-step reasoning (chain-of-thought style prompting)
- Structured output constraints (JSON, schemas, formatting rules)
- Guardrails, failure modes, and edge cases
- Experience testing and iterating prompts to improve accuracy, consistency, and task completion rate.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation metrics and methodologies to assess prompt performance.
- Ability to think systematically about inputs, outputs, constraints, and evaluation criteria.
- Comfortable working with technical documentation and versioned prompt libraries.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
Description
As an AI Prompt Engineer, you will be responsible for making AI systems dependable, predictable, and effective across internal workflows.
You will:
● Write and refine prompts that clearly communicate tasks to AI systems and achieve a high success rate.
● Test prompts against real-world scenarios, edge cases, and variations in input.
● Analyze failures and iterate on prompt structure, instructions, and constraints.
● Define expected outputs and ensure responses meet formatting, accuracy, and quality standards.
● Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate prompts into production workflows.
● Document prompt logic, assumptions, and best practices for reuse and scaling.
● Help establish internal standards for prompt quality, testing, and performance.
This role is not about one-off prompts — it’s about building reliable AI behavior that can be trusted at scale.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with automation tools, APIs, or workflow orchestration (e.g., n8n, Zapier, custom pipelines).
- Familiarity with evaluation techniques (manual review, success metrics, prompt comparison).
- Basic understanding of how LLMs work (token limits, temperature, context windows, hallucinations).
- Experience designing prompts for structured outputs, classification, extraction, or decision-making tasks.
